Lurquer Declines Nobel Nomination
Sadly, because of numerous pending commitments, it had to be done. The following email was sent today, September 11, 2005, to the Nobel Foundation.

To the Esteemed Members of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Swedish Academy, and the Norwegian Nobel Institute:Stay tuned for further details.
It is with great regret that, for reasons various and sundry, I find that I must decline any potential nomination for the 2005 prize year.
I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and wish you all the best of luck in this year's prize awards.

They never replied. I have to assume that I was shuffled to the bottom of the stack, rather than have anything official appear on the record...
